- Persons 18 years of age or older may, with a permit, set, maintain or increase a reasonable fire for the purpose of cooking, upon sandy or gravelly land free from living or dead vegetation or upon sandy or rocky beaches bordering tidewater, if the fire is enclosed within metal or noncombustible material. Fires may not ever be built directly on the sand.
- Restriction: Cook Fires are not permitted during the hours of 9:00am - 4:30pm during the summer season when the beaches are staffed.
- Restriction: Cook fires or cooking grills shall be placed a minimum of twenty-five (25) feet from any beach grass or vegetation and shall not be placed on or in any dune area.
- Restriction: All fires shall be thoroughly & completely extinguished after use and all contents and fire debris shall be removed from the beach. Burying charcoal or other fire debris on the beach is strictly prohibited.
- Restriction: No, glass, aluminum or other non-flammable material shall be placed or disposed of in a cook fire.
